Yay, Obama!!!

This is a sketch that I did which was supposed to run in Radar magazine, but they just folded and have hopes another magazine might pick this feature up. Me and a few other PR designers were asked to sketch an inaugural ball gown for the future first lady, but keeping the first lady generic. I ignored that, and did a sketch of Michelle Obama! What an exciting new time for change!

Update: Here's the link to the Daily Beast which did pick it up along with the other designers' sketches.

agh! i am so happy you have a blog! you were my favorite pr winner ever! in five seasons this was the only time the person i wanted to win actually did and i was and it was worth the wait because i think you are brilliant!

i first read this article when prgay linked to it and i LOVED yours. it would be amazing if she did wear it, i think the color would look brilliant on her and it really seems to be that simple but striking aesthetic she likes.

I'm glad to hear you support Obama. When I saw the sketch I thought you may have voted for McCain, as the sketch resembles Cindy.
Anyway your entry was one of the best. Your designs are amazing. Look up Roberto Cappucci sometime when you get the chance. I think you would enjoy his work.

I am not crazy about this dress for MO. I am not trying to be obnoxious, but since I wrote this on PRG, I didn't want to come off as a hypocrite either, especially since I know I will be doing quite a bit of gushing in the future.

I like the blog name petals and waves. I wish you could have snuck noodles in there, but I know it would take the blog's image in a different, less refined direction.

What do you think about Jay's dress actually being designed by somebody else (they contacted the wrong Jay)?
